November and December are the months where they separate the men from the boys in the NFL. And as it turns out Womens Joe Mixon Jersey , this coming Sunday is a big step in the 2018 maturation process for two teams who have already been largely competitive over the past 15 seasons. This Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium, it’s “Who Dey?” versus “Who Dat?”. The New Orleans Saints had a solid squad last year, going 11-5 and winning the NFL South. Unfortunately for them, the lost the divisional round via one of the most iconic plays in postseason history. However, they’ve picked up where that 11-5 record left off, going 7-1 through the first half of this season. Their last victory was particularly impressive, as they knocked off the previously-undefeated Los Angeles Rams in Week 9. By the time Drew Brees retires, he’ll own quite a few significant NFL passing records. He’s playing some of the best football of his career, as he’s currently tied for sixth in touchdown passes, and is tops in the league in passer rating (120.6), as well as completion percentage (76.3) by quarterbacks with any significant attempts. That sound you hear is defensive coordinator Teryl Austin biting his fingernails. While Austin’s scheme hasn’t produced the type of results Marvin Lewis has coveted after waving goodbye to Paul Guenther, the injuries haven’t helped matters. As he prepares to go up against one of the best quarterbacks in league history this Sunday, he does so without the services of Carl Lawson, Darqueze Dennard, Vontaze Burfict and others. I guess there’s that built-in excuse. Side note: Brees will not only own very significant NFL passing records when he hangs up the cleats, he may steal the mantle of “Most Likable Quarterback Ever” from Peyton Manning:Meanwhile, further irking Bengals fans this week was an out-of-the-blue addition to New Orleans’ roster. They added Dez Bryant Vincent Rey Jersey White , who was still inexplicably available on the open market, to complement Michael Thomas in the passing game. He should have a nice bounce-back season with Brees feeding him the football. Whether or not Cincinnati will see Bryant this Sunday remains to be seen, but he would have been a nice band-aid with A.J. Green nursing a toe injury. However, Cincinnati’s brain trust wants to see what it has from other young pass-catching options. The spotlight will be on Tyler Boyd and John Ross as Green heals up. Boyd has been outstanding, but he’ll now be bracketed without the threat of No. 18 out on the field. Meanwhile, like so many aspects of the 2018 Bengals, Ross has been feast-or-famine. He has two nice touchdown grabs this year, but he has been dealing with a nagging groin injury. It appears that he’s back for the first since Week 7. He, like others behind him, will need to grow up quickly the next couple of weeks if Cincinnati is to keep pace in the AFC North. The Bengals may also be getting back Giovani Bernard. The hope is that he can line up as a wide receiver and bring back some creativity to the offense after missing the past four games with a sprained knee ligament. Bernard is truly a triple-threat: he can catch, run and block from the running back position. Coupled with Joe Mixon, this can be one of the most potent duos in the league. In an odd way, these two players might provide a form of defense this week. Offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and Andy Dalton have worked well together this season, but the second half dry spells are worrisome. Some believe that it’s once the offense gets off of the scripted plays from the first half when the issues surface. In Week 8 against Tampa Bay, Cincinnati’s offense had four consecutive three-and-outs to start the second half and spur the Buccaneers’ furious comeback. Sure, the Bengals’ defense is underachieving, but the point droughts aren’t helping. These guys are human and they get fatigued. Think about the result if Lazor’s crew was to disappear like this against Brees and the Saints. That’s why Mixon and Bernard should provide an interesting form of defense Alex Erickson Jersey White , so to speak, this week. The former is averaging nearly five yards per carry this year (just 3.5 last season), while Bernard has a 4.6 average. If they can go “old school” and get the ground game going, they might pull out a shocker by chewing up the clock and keeping Brees off of the field.Did we mention that Billy Price is returning to the offensive line this week?Part of me thinks that this Sunday is headed for the type of a blowout in the form of the Sunday Night Football debacle against the Chiefs. Brees and his offensive unit will provide countless problems for Austin’s crew. But, might the Saints be a little tired after the emotional win against the Rams? Will Brees struggle a little more in the weather than we think? Hopefully, but betting against him right now is probably not the wisest move to make.Saints 31, Bengals 20AC — Dat’s who. Today’s list of fantasy football”s top 101 PPR players of 2017 features our No.1 ranked tight end. Is he too low on the list?If you’ve been keeping up with my articles you know by now I’m not a guy who puts a lot of stock in the tight end position on draft day. It’s a position where I believe owners can find great value in the later rounds or even on the waiver-wire.Article continues below ...That’s part of the reason why I have our No. 1 fantasy football tight end fairly low on the list but it’s also not the whole story. To be clear, the top 101 PPR players are for re-draft leagues only. Here’s a look at players ranked No. 29-27:Jun 13, 2017; Cincinnati, OH, USA; Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (28) runs drills during minicamp at Paul Brown Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports29. Joe Mixon, RB – Cincinnati BengalsBengals rookie running back Joe Mixon checks in as my RB12 for 2017 despite the fact he’s never played a down in the NFL. The reason I have him ranked so high is due to both his talent and situation.More from NFL Spin ZoneTampa Bay Buccaneers: Doug Martin focused on return to form1 h agoLos Angeles Rams: Jamon Brown now key on offensive line2h agoWashington Redskins: Can Jim Tomsula help turn defense around?2h agoNew Orleans Saints: Ryan Ramczyk could solve lingering problem3h agoSan Francisco 49ers: Linebackers showing early promise in coverage3h agoMixon was drafted in the second-round of the 2017 NFL Draft even with his major off-the-field issues. It’s safe to say if Mixon never had those issues, he would have been selected somewhere in the first-round. He’s a true three-down running back whose abilities resemble that of Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. With the way the Bengals backfield is looking, Mixon should be able to show what he’s capable of right away.Giovani Bernard has been with the Bengals for the last four seasons. In that time he’s averaged 14 touches per game. However, Bernard tore his ACL in Week 11 last season and according to Bengals writer Geoff Hobson, he could miss the first couple games of the regular season. The Bengals other running back, Jeremy Hill Andrew Billings Jersey White , has had back-to-back below-average seasons. Since 2015 he’s only averaged 3.7 yards per carry. He also failed to reach 850 rushing yards in either of those two seasons. With Bernard rehabbing and Hill underwhelming, Mixon should begin the season as the starter. If/when that happens, I highly doubt he relinquishes the job. The rookie should see around 250 touches in 2017.Oct 9, 2016; Cleveland, OH, USA; New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (87) during warmups before the game against the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Patriots won 33-13. Mandatory Credit: Scott R. Galvin-USA TODAY Sports28. Rob Gronkowski, TE – New England PatriotsLast season Rob Gronkowski had career lows in receptions (25), receiving yards (540) and touchdowns (3). The obvious reason for his down-year in 2016 was due to injuries. Gronk first couldn’t get on the field due to a hamstring injury and then his season ended prematurely due to a back injury. If you’ve been tracking Gronk’s career, you know he’s dealt with back injuries since his time at Arizona University. It’s a big reason why he fell to the second round in the 2010 NFL Draft.<style>.theiaPostSlider_nav._lower { display: none !important }</style>Must Read: NFL 2017: 20 Players with Best Chance at 2,000 Receiving YardsThere’s no denying Gronk is the best tight end in the NFL when he’s healthy. The problem is, he hasn’t been healthy. In four out of the last five seasons he’s missed at least one game due to injury. In that time he’s averaged nearly five missed games per season because of injuries. With these injuries piling up and Gronk getting older, it’s hard to make the argument he’s in the prime of his career, even though he’s only 28 years old.Would it be a surprise if Gronk played in all 16 games in 2017 and finished as the No. 1 fantasy tight end like he was in 2014 and 2015? Not really, but at the same time, I’m not going to hold my breath. Unlike the past, Gronk is nowhere close to a first-round pick in fantasy. For me, the earliest I’d take him is at the end of the second round of a 12-team league. And that’s only if I had a handful of running backs and/or wide receivers still on the board that I liked and knew one of them would be available with my next pick after the turn.Sep 13 Jeff Driskel Jersey White , 2015; Houston, TX, USA; Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (10) catches a pass for a touchdown over Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters (22) during the first half at NRG Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports27. DeAndre Hopkins, WR – Houston TexansIn 2015, Texans wideoutDeAndre Hopkins finished as the fourth-best PPR wide receiver in fantasy. A year later, he finished as the 26th PPR wide receiver. What exactly happened to him? Brock Osweiler walked into his life. That’s what happened. Across 15 games last season Osweiler threw 15 touchdowns, 16 interceptions and fell short of 3,000 yards passing. Just awful.Despite signing Osweiler to a massive contract in 2016, the Texans traded him to the Cleveland Browns along with a second-round pick just so they wouldn’t have to see his face again. Although Michael Scott may disagree with the notion, I believe this move is clearly addition by subtraction. Yet, Hopkins isn’t out of the woods just yet.Hopkins will either be catching passes from Tom Savage or rookie Deshaun Watson. Across five career games since 2015, Savage hasn’t looked good. He has yet to score a NFL touchdown while turning the ball over three times. As much as I like Watson and am rooting for him, he’s a rookie at the hardest position in the NFL and arguably in all of sports. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he begins the season as the backup and when he does play, gets off to a slow start.Next: Fantasy Football Rankings, Top 101 PPR Players: No. 32-30Although the questions at the quarterback position are obvious, I have faith in Hopkins because he’s one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He will lead the team in targets and the receptions for the third-straight season and should have 75+ receptions also for the third-straight season. This article originally appeared on
